Merino wool – also a hit in summer

Merino wool is soft, breathable, warms, cools and remains odor-neutral even when worn more often. But where do these great benefits of natural fiber actually come from? And why is the wool of the merino sheep also perfect for summer?

Merino wool is the wool of merino sheep. Unlike regular sheep wool, the fibers of merino wool are much finer and thinner. This is also the reason why merino wool does not scratch on the skin.

Now you are probably wondering why now that the temperatures are finally warmer again, we report on the advantages of merino wool – of course, quite simply:

Merino wool is ideal for hotter days. This is because the wool can absorb up to 33% of the dead weight of moisture and store it in the fiber interior. The wool thus absorbs sweat from the skin and stores it in the fiber. Due to the sun and warm summer air, the moisture on the outside and the resulting evaporation cold evaporates, leaving a cool feeling on the skin – awesome or?

Knitting is therefore not only the best occupation for cold winter days, but can also give you some nice hours in the sun on the lake. Merino wool in all colors and finishes is of course available in our shop. Pack bathing and knitwear and nothing like going on.
