Make new from old: How to make great accessories from old wool parts

As you know, we are all about wool. We love to offer high-quality wool products and thus contribute to the craftsmanship. But today we want to look at the wool world from a slightly different angle: the upcycling of old or unused wool clothes.

In the depths of your wardrobe there are probably treasures of wool waiting to be rediscovered. Instead of continuing to ignore these forgotten garments, why not just give them a second life?

Upcycling old woolen garments is not only a way to refresh your wardrobe, but also an environmentally friendly and creative way to create new accessories.

There are so many cool things you can design and we have some ideas for you today.

Cuddly blankets and pillows: Do you have old wool sweaters or blankets lying around? Perfekt! You can easily turn them into cuddly blankets or super stylish pillows. Mix different colors and patterns for your very own personal look!

Bags and bags: Wool sweaters that you no longer wear can also be converted into cool bags or bags. Whether handbag, rucksack or shopping bag – let your imagination run wild!

Decoration for home: Uses wool scraps to crochet or knit colorful pot flaps, coasters or other decorative items.

Pet accessories: As some of you already know, pets, especially Sabine’s West Highland White Terrier, Rupert have a big place in our lives. Therefore, the furry friends should also benefit from our upcycling ideas. Cut or knit cozy blankets or toys for your pets and give old wool materials a second life.

Perhaps you are now wondering why we are even dealing with the topic of upcycling of wool. The inspiration for this came from the new “Isager Archive Collection”, of which we have already presented the first designs in the previous contributions.

In this collection, old wool designs from the 60s and 70s are breathed new life and this is also a kind of upcycling for us.

Today we would like to introduce you to the newly released designs in the words of the designers in more detail:

Hanne Rimmen I Aase Sweater

– Hanne Rimmen

Odd Row I Tove Shirt & Skirt

– Lene Rix, Odd Row

Helga Jona I Rita Jacket

Knitthing I Agnes Sweater

– Tine Rousing, Knitthing

Camilla Vad I Flora Slipover

– Camilla Vad

Today, the “Kirsten Shirt” and the “Kirsten Skirt” by Helga Isager and thus the last design of the collection, will also appear. As we think, he was again an extremely successful collection and we fell in love with every single piece of clothing.

Whether you spice up your wardrobe with new clothes from the Isager Archive collection or upcycling old woolen clothes, is entirely up to you. However, one thing is certain: working with wool is always fun.

With this in mind, we wish you a wonderful weekend and look forward to delighting you again with new knitting inspirations in two weeks. Bis bald!
