From the beginning, I knew I wanted to design a multi-color sweater – I love knitting with multiple colors and working with color combinations. During the development of SELENE SWEATER My thoughts revolved around a feminine sweater with Nordic references and an easily recognizable look. At the same time, I wanted to offer knitters a good challenge and a cozy project, in which one row follows the other.
I chose Tweed, a rustic and classic autumn yarn. It is combined with two threads of silk mohair, which is light, soft and feminine. This yarn mix gives you the opportunity to mix your personal favorite colors. In the blue version, for example, I combined the blue tweed yarn with a light light blue and a pastel purple made of silk mohair. This color mix gives the sweater its unique and beautiful blue-melted base color.

First, stitches for the neckline are struck with the Italian stitch stop and the tie is made in the entangled rib pattern. Thereafter, the pass is knitted in a multi-colored manner from the forward row. In order for the back to be spacious and fit well, shortened rows are made before dividing the pass into body and sleeves.
If you want to reduce the difficulty level, the Italian mesh stop can be replaced by the usual stop. But then make sure that it is not too tight. Similarly, the Italian chain can be replaced by the ordinary chain.

It is very different how much freedom of movement you want to achieve on your knitted piece. Take some of your favorite sweaters. So the decision regarding the appropriate size may be easier for you.
I decided for my SELENE SWEATER for a range of movement of 11 cm. Both SELENE SWEATERs, which you can see in the photos, are both Gr. 1.
Note Wolle + Staune: Anne is very, very petite and just over 1.60 meters.
However, the blue sweater was knitted 4 cm shorter than specified here, so it fits a high-cut jeans.

Recommended needles and gauge
4 mm double-pointed needles
4 mm and 4,5 mm circular knitting needle (40, 60 and 80 cm)
Possibly a straight 4 mm needle for the Italian mesh stop
NOTE: Personally, I always choose a 0.5-1 mm thicker needle size for multi-colored projects than if I were to knit smoothly on the right in order to keep the gauge. However, this can vary greatly from person to person, which is why I recommend it to you all the more here, before the actual knitting first a stitch sample to finish.
