Two weeks ago, we told you in detail how you best take your embroidery projects on trips and which projects are particularly suitable for traveling. This week we want to give you a glimpse of Sabine’s travel plans this year.
So sit back and be inspired by Sabine’s stories:
“In July, it’s time again: It’s time for the long-awaited holiday!” Christian, Rupert and I travel as always with our beloved motorhome. Where exactly is the journey going? We don’t really know it yet and will probably only make a final decision on the motorway.
Last year we had planned to visit the Baltic States. But then, in the middle of the German highway, we spontaneously decided to change our plans and go to Norway. That moment felt like a real adventure – almost as if we were doing something forbidden. It was incredibly exciting to discard our plan in seconds and do something completely new.

By the way, my husband builds really great motorhomes. Just look at it.Zirbenbox – natural travel‘Over!’
This year I’m flirting with Denmark, especially when it’s hot here. Driving along the spectacular Atlantic coast would be a dream. Alternatively, it could go to Brittany on the French Atlantic coast, but only if there is no heat wave. Or maybe we’ll go back to Sweden? We just don't know yet.
In our next blog post, going online on 6 July, we will tell you where our journey took us. We may even have a photo or two to share.
But now we come to the woolly topics and the great knitting kits that we have prepared for you.
Let's go with "Other Loops“! Hinter „Other Loops“ steht Maja Kløvdal. Since her apprenticeship as a fashion designer at the Kolding Design School in Denmark, Maja has made an impressive career in the fashion industry, driving the growth of several well-known Danish fashion brands. “Other Loops” was born out of Maja’s dream to create more slow fashion and return to her roots in knitting fashion design. It attaches great importance to aesthetics, quality and detail, which correspond to the traditions of Scandinavian design.
Recently, Maja has developed the popular “Tide Loop Tee” from last year. In addition to this timeless classic, there is now also a stylish bag and an airy summer top:
Favorite Pieces, Knitting Scalations & Small Walking Commons
Claudia Eisenkolb | Structures
We are simply delighted with this wonderful shawl by Claudia Eisenkolb. The simple design makes it versatile, while knitting is anything but boring. For this project, we have selected the noble, hand-dyed wool from “LITLG”. The more discreet the choice of color, the more beautiful the pattern comes into its own.
LITLG I Minna Shawl
The “Minna Shawl” is a special favorite piece of ours. Due to the varied patent pattern, it is more demanding to knit, which makes it all the more fascinating. Also in this project we use the high-quality “Singles” from “LITLG”.
In addition, the book with the instructions is currently on offer – a real bargain!
Joji Locatelli | Crystal Fantasy
Joji Locatelli’s shawl is anything but simple. It is great fun to knit and the wool used is a real pleasure. For this project we have selected the hand-dyed wool from “LITLG” and our own mohair “Miss Zart”.
We want to stay true to our new rubric, and that’s why this week we’re back with “Sabine’s knitting scalation” – or maybe this time we should call it “Sabine’s knitting scalation with obstacles”?
But it's best to let them tell you about it themselves:
“It’s a real challenge to decide which knitting projects are allowed into the motorhome and which are not!” Initially, I thought I would remain reasonable and make gauges of the new yarns that will come in the autumn. But honestly, I know myself too well: at the latest after a week of monotonous 15 x 15 cm smooth right knitting, I get impatient. Then I can’t resist and throw myself into the next best wool shop to buy wool for a sweater or jacket. Often even wool, which I actually even have in the store – incredible, right?
Before Sabine finally says goodbye to the well-deserved holiday, she wants to confess one of her woolly secrets to you. But psst, do not tell her husband, because she must continue to be able to justify her spontaneous shopping trips in wool shops as inevitable and urgently necessary. 😉
Recently, Sabine came across wool she bought in Norway last year in the motorhome – quite innocently, of course, under the pretext of testing it. This unexpected find was like Christmas to her, but somehow she also felt a bit like a caught junkie. The wool was perfectly hidden between wine bottles and swimwear, which had not been used in Norway last year. Anyway, at that moment she simply had to laugh at herself, and that alone justified the purchase of this wool in any case.
In the meantime, she has carefully stowed the yarn in the “Wolle & Staune Design Studio”, or rather in her secret warehouse in the walk-in wardrobe, in order to finally test it after the holiday.
Do you have some woolly secrets that a “non-wool fan” would simply not understand? Let us share in it so that Sabine does not feel quite so alone in this regard.
Share your funny, exciting or incredible stories with us – we look forward to it!
In this sense, we wish you a great time with your knitting projects and we will read each other again in two weeks.
PS: Our online store is of course from our company holidays
