OLE Hat (Mohairvariante)

The cap is knitted from bottom to top in rounds on a short circular knitting needle, only the stitch stop and the removals are worked on a set of double-pointed needles. First, the envelope collar is knitted with left patent stitches in the half-patent pattern, then the body is “mirrored” in the half-patent pattern with right patent stitches. Thus, the same pattern is produced on the front side when the bundle is folded over. The decreases for the cap tip are operated as double decreases with right and left inclination. For this hat, it is recommended to use a yarn that is somewhat elastic, otherwise the half-patent pattern tends to ‘weed out’. Pure cotton or pure alpaca, for example, are not so suitable.

Gauge
Half-patent with Nd 3.0 mm: 22-23 M x 52-54 R = 10 x 10 cm (washed and measured undextended)
Select a different needle size if necessary to adapt the gauges.

50 (100) 100 (100) g of Lamana’s “Lima” (50% South American merino wool (mulesing-free), 25% silk and 25% baby Alpaca together with
25 grams = 1 ball of Lamana ‘Premia’ (60 % mohair, 40 % silk; LL 300 m/25g).
