The DK yarn is a modern mix of cotton and modal. It is wonderfully soft, with a light shimmer and particularly breathable due to the modality, so the COSMA is also particularly suitable for summer knitting.

Pima cotton
Cotton grows in a wide variety of forms worldwide. Its most important quality feature, in addition to natural coloring and purity, is above all the length of its fibers. Pima cotton is the highest quality level available, with a fibre length of more than 32mm. Due to the optimal climatic conditions of the northern coastal region of Peru, the Pima cotton cultivated there is one of the best in the world. It is distinguished by its special splendor, to which it owes the name of "Silk of South America".
Modal
Modal is a synthetic fibre made from organic pulp. This is obtained from shredded wood. For the production of Modal only pulp from beech wood is used. Compared to viscose, which is also obtained from pulp, the higher-quality modal is characterized by improved resistance to tearing and scrubbing and is also softer. Modal is excellent for mixing with cotton. Mixed yarns of modal and cotton impress with a silky gloss and are particularly breathable.

Inspired by the love of knitting, wool and fashion, we initially specialized in exclusive Peruvian yarns. In the course of the further development of our exquisite collection, we are now also spinning in traditional Italian companies.
In yarn production, we attach the highest importance to the origin, growing conditions and the further processing and coloring of the fibres used. We ensure our standards of fair production, sustainability and consistent LAMANA quality through regular visits to the carefully selected partners on site.
We have our yarns produced exclusively by owner-managed traditional companies in Italy and Peru. We ourselves have close family ties to Peru and regularly visit our selected production partners, with whom we have long-standing friendly relations.
