This knitting book contains a basic pattern for mittens and one for finger gloves, as well as a wealth of different patterns. The techniques are beautifully illustrated with drawings by Japanese Toshiko Koikegami.

The idea for ‘Handcraft’ was born out of our shared passion for techniques and details. We have been teaching together for several years and have the same thorough approach to the craft. A pattern can often be improved so that the stitches run just right, or maybe a few more stitches need to be knitted to get perfect edges. We may be the only ones who see it, but it is the joy of creating a finished piece of craft that drives us both in our work and lets us use the sweater or scarf for years.
We wanted to make a book where we could collect some of the techniques and patterns that we liked the most, and found that it was obvious to knit mittens and gloves, because in a small piece of knit you get through many techniques.
