The HOR SILKE consists of the best French linen (70%) and the wild Tussah silk (30%), which are turned into fine, thin strands and then spun up to a warp yarn. This type of spinning gives the yarn a higher volume which would not be achievable with normal spinning.

The Hor Silke is an enchanting summer yarn with a beautiful shimmer. It can also be wonderfully knitted with thicker needles then it becomes quite loose and airy, but also combined with mohair or thin cashmere for a year-round piece.
It has a beautiful color scale with many natural tones but also beautiful colors that shimmer like gemstones.

Important tips and information:
Beim und nach dem Stricken sieht das Verstrickte unregelmäßig aus – das ist ganz normal bei Leinen. Nach der ersten Wäsche wird es wunderschön. Siehe auch die wichtige Info unter Pflege.
The gauge also changes greatly after the first wash. If you need a gauge, you must wash it before you can use it.
This is the case with every linen, you should always consider this when working with linen.

PflegeHand wash

In order to achieve the luxurious, smooth, loose linen look, let the finished knit piece first soak in water at room temperature, without further ado for a whole day. If you have knitted multicolored, stick to it at the beginning, if one of the colors bleeds out, do not soak but rinse again and again until no more color comes. After that, you can soak it as described above.

After that, you can wash normally, even in the washing machine. Wool washing program 20-25 degrees, do not fling (as this can give wrinkles in linen).

About Cheetah Yarn

Gepard Garn was founded in 1989 by Sus Gebhard. It is a Danish brand and as such influenced by Scandinavian style and design tradition.

Sus Gebhard has created an entire knitting universe, in which you get the highest quality yarns, which are also produced ecologically and fairly.

The story of Gepard is the story of an artisan and her vision, creativity and passion for the best yarns to create finished products that are both beautiful and durable.
Yarn is never the same yarn, never just the soft thread – history, culture and technology are and have always been crucial for the development of new yarns.

Each fiber has its own personality and its harmonious combination is a unique and exciting challenge that must always lead to a yarn that brings joy to both knitting and wearing.

Throughout the entire production process, Gepard Garn attaches importance to high-quality products and consideration for people and the environment.
Gepard works with small family-run Italian yarn factories with a tradition and extensive knowledge of spinning and dyeing – a knowledge that makes them the leading Italian brand of both trendy and classic yarns.

The yarn produced there especially for cheetah is available in a wide range of wool, cotton, mohair, linen, silk and more. Cheetah also publishes models where you can find inspiration and knitting instructions.

Gepard Garn’s mission is to continue offering high-quality yarns and inspirational patterns that bring joy to all creatives who love knitting – just like us.
