WOLLE & STAUNE · BLOG & NEWS

Mesh love instead of bulk

You go shopping – actually only “look briefly”. But before you know it, you stand in the glaring light of the changing rooms, gets soniced by dubious music and gets lost between endless clothes racks, all of which look somehow the same. Not a single part really feels right: either the fabric scratches, the garment hangs there in what feels like a fifty-thousand-fold version, or the seams appear at the first glance as if they would not survive the next laundry. And at the end? Once again, a T-shirt ends up in the shopping bag, which you regret at the latest after the first washing. There is no trace of true quality time and sustainability.

But now imagine this: Instead of rushing through crowded shopping malls, you walk relaxed to your favorite wool shop. Not a stinking underground parking garage where you are desperately looking for a parking space. No crowds in the shopping frenzy who forget any form of consideration between oversized sale signs. Instead, you enter comfortably, are greeted warmly and if the question “Can I help?” sounds, the saleswoman or the saleswoman is actually happy if you answer “Yes”.Together you go on the search for your next perfect knitting project – and for a wool that smells fresh nature at the first grasp. In our opinion, no sale sign in the world can surpass this feeling.

In the knitting shop you do not just buy any woolen balls for any clothing item or accessory. You decide on wool, from which something is created that you are guaranteed to love. Not only because it looks beautiful, but because every scam reminds of the time, the effort and the heart blood. Instead of frustration in the stuffy changing room, there is pure anticipation when knitting.

Sweaters, jackets, skirts, shirts – all no problem. But at this point, some of you might smile and wonder, “And a designer bag?” How the hell should I please knit a designer bag?“ Sure, you might think that there is nothing left but to dig deep into your wallet and treat yourself to an expensive designer piece. Don’t get us wrong – we have absolutely nothing against an elegant bag with a subtle Gucci or Prada logo. But we just say: even a small PetiteKnit label can be seen pretty well on a bag.

And so start with our absolute favorite of the week: the Juno Bag by PetiteKnit. Quite honestly – we don’t know about you, but for us it is clear: in combination with the matching bag charm and the leather strap, she can easily keep up with the very large designer bags.

She not only has style, but is full of attention to detail and personality.

One of the original yarns – the Crealino in the color No. 039 – is currently unfortunately out of print. But don't worry: Presumably for the 25. August Around it will be available again. Until then, PetiteKnit recommends as alternatives the Hor by Isager or the Tynn Line Of Sandnes Garn.

So if you can even knit a designer bag yourself, then everything else is really a breeze, right? How about, for example, the Scarlet Cardigan by PetiteKnit or the Seoul Blouse from Aegyoknit? By the way, the latter is Sabine’s current holiday project, with which she is already attuned to her beloved autumn. What about the choice of color? Who would have thought otherwise: Black! A little touch of curry cognac was also allowed to blend in, so that the sweater fits perfectly with their leather accessories in cognac.

Not only PetiteKnit and Aegyoknit provide real designer pieces in the wardrobe – also Anne Ventzel has some great designs that we absolutely must show you. Those who like it simple and timeless, reach for the Mono Tee. And for all those who love a little bit more whistle, there is the knitting kit for the Sailor Light Tee or the Sailor Light Tunic.

The Sailor Light Tunic We immediately stayed at the cozy Oversize sweaters Reminded of Sandnes Garn. Summer, sun, sea – just with a pinch of Nordic freshness. No wonder, then, that Sabine absolutely wanted to include this knitting kit in today’s article.

And because we want to prove to you today that you can theoretically knit the entire wardrobe yourself, we continue: From the bag over the Cardigan, sweater and the tunic, it is now directly to a skirt. Linette’s Skirt is called the good piece – made of fine linen and with the certain something of Trine Bertelsen. With a little bit of knitting patience and your skills, he could soon move in with you.

Well, we are of course completely aware that few have the time, energy or leisure to knit every single item of clothing or accessory themselves. Of course, we want to remain realistic here – sometimes a fast fashion t-shirt made of polyester ends up in the shopping basket or you just really feel like digging through the clothes racks of the big fashion chains. And you know what? That's totally okay! We do not want to give you a guilty conscience – on the contrary: everyone who reads this post can pat himself on the shoulder. Because the step of dealing with wool and knitting alone means doing something good for yourself, for the environment and for more sustainability.

And now we don’t want to text you any longer – we think that’s a nice ending point for today’s contribution, which needs no more big words.

But we still treat you to a small preview: Sabine comes back from her holiday – with plenty of ideas for the autumn. In addition to many new impressions and stories, their homemade flowers are also in the luggage – those small works of art that you can admire on our cover picture and that will soon turn our entrance sign into a real piece of jewelry.

You can already look forward to our next post in two weeks! Until then, we wish you, as always, a lot of fun and good luck!
