Hello dear friends,

In our last post, we already indicated that something special is coming to you. And now it’s time to let the cat out of the bag – in the true sense of the word. With “GEPARD Garn” we welcome a new wool company in our large wool family.

Today we want to tell you why we are so excited to include “Geched Garn” in our range. So grab a cup of tea (or coffee, of course), snuggle in your favorite blanket and let’s dive into the world of “cheetah yarn” together.

It gets fluffy, it gets colorful & it just gets fantastic!

Gepard Garn saw the light of day in 1989 under the direction of Sus Gebhard. With this brand, Sus Gebhard has created a whole universe of knitting. Here you will find not only high-quality yarns, but also sample collections that spray just so before inspiration.

The story of Gecheet is the story of a craftsman and her vision, creativity and passion to develop the best yarns. Their goal has always been to create yarns that are not only beautiful to look at, but also have a long life.

Because yarn is never just a simple material, never just the soft thread. It carries within it the history, culture and technology that have always been and are crucial for the development of new yarns.

Throughout the entire manufacturing process, the company attaches importance to the highest quality and pays equal attention to people and the environment. Gepard works closely with small, family-run Italian yarn mills. These not only have a long tradition, but also an extensive know-how in spinning and dyeing technology.

Gepard I Woolia

The Woolia of Gepard is taking the hearts of all knit lovers by storm – and we are also completely enthusiastic about this extraordinary yarn. Because Woolia`s incredible softness inspires at first grip, but it differs significantly from the classic Merinowoll varieties. Woolia is fluffier and has a matte texture that almost reminds you of traditional sheep wool – but without the unpleasant scratch factor.

The very special and what really warms our hearts is: This yarn consists of a very special wool. Wool of an old original Italian sheep breed, Merino Gentile Puglia. Sheep and lambs graze mainly between fruit and olive trees on organic plantations and on extensive areas. ❤️ One of our shop customers has just confirmed that this is really true, in one of her holidays in Italy she has been able to observe such olive plantations with sheep.

Last week we were able to smile wonderfully about the reactions to Woolia. The first balls have already left our shop, in a very special way: Our customers accompanied us directly to our warehouse to choose their favorite colors. They were so enthusiastic about Woolia that they couldn’t even wait until we unpacked everything.

Woolia is also the reason why we are already back on the order. Woolia is so popular that we want to ensure that our supplies are always sufficient to meet demand.

Gepard I Kid Seta

Um die Vielfalt der Woolia-Farben optimal zu ergänzen, haben wir uns für die “Kid Seta” von “Gepard Garn” entschieden – und das, obwohl wir bereits eine reichliche Auswahl an Mohair-Garnen wie “FRL Zart unsere Hausmarke”, “Silk Mohair von Isager” und „Tynn Silk Mohair von Sandes Garn” führen.

But we know that you like to bet on the original for your knitting projects, so we thought: Why not add another mohair variety? Once we have placed the woolia in our shop, we take time to take a close look at all the colors again. The idea was also born to create a legend for you that describes exactly which mohair yarns in which color best fit the woolia. So you can easily find the perfect combination for your next knitting project.

Gepard I Teddy Dear

Of course, the Bouclé by Gepard Garn must not be missing from our range! With its unique textures and trendy designs, it is a real addition to any knitting collection. However, shortly before the start of summer, we decided not to stock all the colors. If a certain color is marked with “backorder”, please do not hesitate to order it anyway. We will take care of it immediately and order it directly from Denmark. The delivery time in this case is about 4 to 7 working days.

We are still working on putting together knitting kits for the bouclé yarn for you, but we have to admit that we could not do everything as quickly as we would have liked.

Of course, we have already created knitting kits for the “Woolia” yarn, which we would like to introduce to you in more detail.

Anne Ventzel I Villa Wrap

Villa Wrap is a cardigantic jacket of exceptional softness and elegance. Its distinctive structure is characterized by a pearl pattern and vertical lines of right stitches, giving it a unique appearance.

Es tut uns jedoch wirklich leid, euch mitteilen zu müssen, dass die weiße Woolia aktuell ausverkauft ist. Es scheint fast zur Regel zu werden, dass Anne’s Designs so begehrt sind, dass die entsprechende Wolle sofort vergriffen ist. Obwohl wir bereits eine große Menge dieser Farbe vorgeordert haben, wird es noch eine Weile dauern, bis sie wieder verfügbar ist.

But don’t worry, we have enough of the other colors in stock. So don’t hesitate to secure your favorite color while it’s still available.

Irene Lin I Mina Sweater

With the “Mina Sweater” we are at Sabines this week knitting scaling in place – in her head she has already knitted the Sweater half finished.

Obwohl die Anleitung auf Englisch ist, konnten wir einfach nicht widerstehen – dieser Pullover mit seinem wunderschönen Zopfmuster und seinem einzigartigen Schnitt musste unbedingt Teil unseres Sortiments werden.

My Favorite Things Knitwear I Sweater No. 20

Sweater No. 20 is an oversized sweater that impresses with its braid patterns. The silhouette is caste-like, with overlapped shoulders forming an oblique line. The wide fret on the neckline is a real eye-catcher and gives the sweater that certain something.

Aegyoknit I Busan Sweater

The Busan Sweater is an absolute must-have and one of the main reasons why we have waited so long excited for the “Woolia”. It is a cuddly, yet light sweater that gives a feeling of pure luxury thanks to the noble matrial.

Nach all dem Schwärmen über „Gepard Garn“ schalten wir jetzt wieder einen Gang zurück und machen uns wieder an unsere aktuellen Strickprojekte, denen wir an diesem langen Wochenende sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt haben.
