Your knitting diary as a source of inspiration

FFor many of us, knitting is more than just a hobby – it is a passion, a form of meditation, yes even one of the following: Art Creative way of life.

If knitting is also an integral part of your everyday life for you, then today we have a particularly great idea for you. How about a knitting diary? Yes, you read that right, a diary that you dedicate entirely to your knitting projects.

But what could such a knitting diary look like and with what, should one fill it at all? Although you can let your creativity run wild here, just like in knitting itself, we have let some ideas go through our heads.

  • Tell the story of your yarns: If you attach particular importance to the use of high-quality yarns and the production and origin are also important to you, then include this information in your diary. From the discovery of the wool to the completion of the project, document how each yarn has affected you.

  • Special knitting moments: Hold onto knitting moments that mean a lot to you. Whether it is the first self-knitted pair of socks or a project that has particularly challenged you – just write it down!

  • Personal knitting goals: Set knitting goals and document how you approach them. Whether it’s mastering a new knitting technique or creating a certain number of projects in a year, your diary will keep you on track.

Perhaps you now ask yourself the question, what such a knit diary should be good for at all. Well, it's simple:

By reflecting on your knitting projects, you can embark on your unique knitting journey, see your progress, and understand how your style and techniques evolve over time.

You can also browse through past projects, remember your successes and motivate yourself again in times of uncertainty or resentment.

In short: Your rope diary will become Your very own personal Source of inspiration!

As you might already imagine, we have prepared new knitting projects for you, so that you can immediately pick up the knitting needles and start filling your diary.

In this case, let's go with Evgeniya Dupily start – a German knitting designer who already has designs for the Laine Magazin has done so. Find out more about the designer HIER.

We are personally enthusiastic about their designs and a big advantage is that many of their instructions are also available in German.

Also two new favorite parts of Helga Isager We have searched for you.

But our highlight this week is the new wool of Sandnes Garn – Ballerina. A classic combination of mohair and wool that makes for the characteristic long-haired mohair look that we like so much. Some exciting designs for this wool are also in the works, but it will take some time before we have the instructions in our house. As always, we will keep you informed.

But what we can already tell you with certainty: The wool is already on its way to us and we will almost certainly arrive on Monday. We can hardly wait.

There is more news from Sandnes Garn. A few days ago, the new children’s collection appeared. In it you will find sweet sweaters, vests, caps and more.

Another novelty in Sandnes Garn is that from now on every knitting manual can be purchased individually and no longer collected in a magazine. This has the advantage that you can buy the instructions for your personal favorite part and no longer have to purchase a complete magazine. What do you think of this?

Before we finish our blog this week, a little spoiler: From mid-February to mid-March, Isager will be releasing a great collection in collaboration with THE most famous Danish knitting designers.

More on this in two weeks – so be curious.
