Strike, get rid of, and become friends

Sometimes it just happens like this: Two people are sitting next to each other – on the train, in the café or on a park bench. One suddenly pulls wool and needles out of the bag, you make big eyes and you have discovered a commonality and connection. Not a big “hello”, but rather a: “Oh, you knit too?” And you're in the middle of it.

Knitting has this wonderful superpower of bringing together people who would otherwise probably never have crossed paths. Alter? Herkunft? It doesn't matter. Whether young or already a few decades on the resume, whether from the other side of the world or with a completely different mother tongue – combining stitches to a pattern works the same everywhere.

Sabine has experienced this many times on her travels: Somewhere in the far north she enters a small wool shop – and although you probably lead completely different lives, there is immediately a common denominator: knitting. From then on, you could talk for hours as if you had known each other forever.

Also in our shop we see this constantly: Two complete strangers get into conversation, exchange tips, laugh about knitting glands and before you know it, the next knitting meeting is already fixed in the calendar.

Knitting is more than just beautiful yarn and perfect stitches. It is also about the people you meet and about this good feeling of belonging somewhere.

Also in our Tyrol there is a small but fine knitting community without which our shop would not be what it is today. That’s why this article is also a bit of a tribute to this very community.

So today we share knitting kits with you that are a bit different from what we usually show. Warum? Because our Tyrolean customers simply go completely off on it again and again. It is about yarns and designs of Lana Grossa. See the whole thing as our attempt to share the Tyrolean enthusiasm for Lana Grossa with you – and maybe the spark jumps over.

One thing we can tell you right away: it gets fluffy.

Many of us still push this thought far away – Sabine, on the other hand, would like to paint it the same size on the shop window: Winter is coming! And with him that Lookbook Nr. 19.

In this magazine, the yarns play the main role – and give even simple designs a certain something. For this purpose, Lana Grossa has expanded three of the most popular effects qualities by one variant each: SUMMER SOFTNESS Become winter-fitting, GIGANTE is finely reduced and BASTA Relies on striking stripes. We bet that these designs have certainly also packed one or the other knitter outside Tyrol. And because we love these little bonding moments under knitters: inside so, we put with the Filati Journal No. 70 I'll just add one more on top of it.

All Lana Grossa fans know: With the publication of the journal, the new season officially starts and there is actually no turning back. Autumn and winter are just around the corner, and anyone who wants the new knitting projects to be completed in time should better start now.

The Designs in Current Filati Magazines may need a little bit of courage at first glance – because they are only brimming with volume and structure. But once you have overcome yourself, one or the other part is guaranteed to land as a new favorite piece in the wardrobe. You can expect expressive bouclés and moulinés, plus shine, glitter and vibrant color gradients.

Because we just don’t get enough of Lana Grossa, there is still a small spoiler: The Collection of NERO Appears in the second half of August. Sabine was so enthusiastic that she ordered all the yarns and colors to match the magazine. No wonder – after all, she is also one of the unshakeable Tyrolean Lana Grossa fans.

But enough of Look Book No. 19, Filati and NERO – after all, there are other good news that some of you have been eagerly waiting for. Cottonwaves and Hør Silke by Gepard Garn are finally back in almost all colors. So: fast access, as long as the supply lasts!

And while we’re already on yarns, there’s the next spoiler: new long yarns will arrive shortly. We can already reveal so much – it will be colorful, but also noble. Of course, we'll keep you informed.
