Arctic Light Sweater

The Arctic Light Sweater is a beautiful braid knit sweater with elaborate patterns on the front, back and sleeves. It is knitted from top to bottom on needles 5 mm thick with a thread merino and a thread silk mohair to give it a shiny shine. The length is slightly shortened, making it the perfect companion to wear to high-waisted jeans or a dress.

Tipp! Choose a lighter color to make the braids especially stand out.

Recommended convenience allowance (positive ease) is 5–15 cm larger than your chest circumference.

Sample piece in size S, Kika has a breast circumference of about 87 cm.

Material

500 (500) 550 (600) 650 (700) 750 g Sandnes Garn Double Sunday (100% merino wool – 108 m / 50 g) in Farbe 1015.
150 (150) 150 (175) 175 (200) 200 g Sandnes Tynn Silk Mohair (57% Kidmohair, 15% Schurwolle und 28% Seide – 25 gr Knäuel = ca 212 Meter.)

Alternatively, you can use the following mohair: Isager Silk Mohair, Wool + Staune FRL-Zart

Gauge
22 sts x 26 rnds = 10 x 10 cm with needle no. 5 mm before tensioning, double-threaded with Double Sunday and Mohair.

Recommended needles
3 mm (US2.5) circular needles 40-60 cm / 16-24” for neck opening and 80-100 cm / 32-40” for hem rib, and DPNs for sleeve rib (or use magic loop technique instead).
5 mm (US8) circular needles 40-60 cm / 16-24” for the sleeves and 80-100 cm / 32-40” for body, or just a 80-100 cm / 32-40” needle if you’re using magic loop technique.
