The Scarlet Sweater is worked from top to bottom with lines of lifting stitches on the front and rear, as well as along the sleeve inner sides. First, the upper part of the back is done in rows, while the shoulder slopes are formed by shortened rows. Thereafter, an I-cord edge is produced along the rear stop edge and stitches for the shoulders are received on this edge, which are knitted separately in rows on a circular knitting needle. The shoulder part is connected to the front. The front and rear sides are connected to the fuselage, which is worked in rounds on a circular knitting needle. The sleeves are knitted from received stitches around the arm cutouts. Finally, stitches for a rib bundle are picked up and knitted around the neck cutout.

The Scarlet Sweater should have a freedom of movement ()positive ease) of about 25 cm for the smaller sizes and a gradually smaller range of movement for the larger sizes. The sizes XXS(XS)S(M)L(XL)2XL (3XL)4XL (5XL) match a chest circumference on the body of 75-80 (80-85)85-90 (90-95)95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The dimensions of the finished sweater can be found on the title page. Note: These dimensions apply only if the gauge is observed. Take measurements of yourself before you begin the actual knitting to determine the size that suits you best. If your chest circumference (or the widest part of your body) is 90 cm, you should choose size S. A sweater in Gr. S has a chest circumference of 115 cm and would have a range of movement in the chosen example (S)positive ease) of 25 cm.
