The Athens sweaters is worked with a multicolored pattern from top to bottom. The upper part of the pass is knitted in one colour. The part of the sweater that is made with patterns is made in rounds on the circular knitting needle, so that the arm cutouts are subsequently cut open. The multi-colored part can also be knitted in rows, so that no cutting is necessary at the end.
First, the upper part of the back is done in rows, with the shoulder inclinations being formed by shortened rows. The shoulders are then knitted separately in rows on the circular knitting needle. These are connected centrally at the front to the front. The front and rear are then connected to the body and additional cutting stitches are struck on both sides so that the pattern can be knitted in rounds until the arm cutouts have been formed. The body is further worked in rounds without cutting stitches and finished with a ribbed tuft at the bottom. After the arm cutouts have been cut open, stitches for the sleeves are picked up all around. Finally, stitches for a ribbon are picked up on the neckline and knitted before it is folded onto the inside.
Note that a multi-colored pattern often needs to be knitted on a 0.5-1 mm larger needle size than the single-colored part. For this reason, make both a gauge smoothly on the right in the pattern and smoothly on the right one-colored before you start knitting. For the gauge, you can use the diagram for the sleeves.
Größenguide
The Athena Sweater should have a freedom of movement ()positive ease) of about 20 cm for the smaller sizes and a gradually smaller range of movement for the larger sizes. The sizes XXS(XS)S(M)L(XL)2XL (3XL)4XL (5XL) match a breast circumference on the body of 75-80 (80-85)85 90 (90-95)95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The dimensions of the finished sweater can be found on the title page. Note: These dimensions apply only if the gauge is observed. Take measurements of yourself before you begin the actual knitting to determine the size that suits you best. If your chest circumference (or the widest part of your body) is 95 cm, you should choose size M. A sweater in Gr. M has a chest circumference of 115 cm and would have a range of movement in the chosen example.positive ease) of 20 cm.
