BASIC Socks

Simple, cosy socks for relaxing at home or keeping your feet extra warm inside boots.

These simple socks are quick and easy to knit. They are worked from the top down on 4.0 mm double-pointed needles, starting with a 1×1 ribbed cuff and continuing in 2×2 rib for the leg. The short-row heel uses Shadow Wraps, and the sock is finished with a classic wedge toe.

Techniques: Italian cast-on, short rows with Shadow Wraps, and left- and right-leaning increases and decreases. All techniques are explained in the pattern or through linked tutorials.

SMART of Sandnes Garn (100% merino wool, 50 grams about 100 meters)

100 g for size 28/29 – 34/35;
150 g for size 36/37 – 46/47

Gauge
21 stitches x 28 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm

Needles
4.0 mm double-pointed needles (15 or 20 cm long)
