LITTLE JOHA SWEATER is Otherloop’s contribution to the LITTLE ISAGER ARCHIVES joint collection – a children’s size collection based on the ISAGER ARCHIVES collection.

The LITTLE JOHA SWEATER is a variation of the JOHANNE_LOOP SWEATER, both inspired by the ‘Alstrøje’, a shading knit sweater designed by Åse Lund Jensen in the 1960s or 1970s. The interpretation is based on the original pattern rapport, which was integrated here in a Raglan construction, which is why the sweater is made in rounds. The raglan section is highlighted by strips which continue decoratively along the body. It was a trademark of Åse Lund Jensen that the seams of her knit pieces were highlighted by stripes or patterns.
The sweater is worked from top to bottom. First, the ribbed is made on the neck cut, then the round pass is knitted in the two-color pattern according to the diagram, while at the same time raglan increases are made. In order to extend the back and guarantee a great cut, shortened rows are worked after the sample part. The body and sleeves are knitted smoothly on the right in rounds and ended with ribbed bundles. The vertical strips on the torso are crocheted.

The sweater is designed with a range of movement of about 20 cm, i.e. You should opt for a size where the breast circumference is about 20 cm larger than the child, depending on how loose the sweater should fall.

Recommended needles
5 and 6 mm circular knitting needle (40, 60 and/or 80 cm).
4,5 mm Rundstricknadel (40 cm). double-pointed needles in the same size or circular knitting needle (80 cm) if knitted using the Magic Loop method.
crochet needle 5 mm.

Gauge
16 stitches x 25 rows smooth right on needle 5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
16 stitches x 21 rows on needle 6 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
