COLLEGE LOOP CARDIGAN is designed with a saddle shoulder that extends over the entire back. The fit is boxy with straight sleeves. Both trunk and sleeve are finished with a college-inspired striped ribbed tuft.
The cardigan is worked from top to bottom. First, stitches are struck centrally in the neck, whereupon first the left shoulder, then the right shoulder is made in rows. Stitches are subsequently picked up along the front shoulder edges and at the rear. After that, further knitting is carried out in rows, while at the same time increases are made for the sleeves and neckline, later also for the arm necklines. The pass is divided into body and sleeves and all parts are completed separately. The body is worked in rows with removals on both sides and finished with a striped ribbed tuft before all the stitches are chained using the Italian method. The sleeves are knitted in rounds and, like the body, finished with a striped ribbed tuft and the Italian chaining method. Finally, stitches for the vertical ribbed tuft are picked up along the front sides and the V-section. The ribbed collar is knitted on during manufacture and the buttonholes are worked on during knitting.
