KAREN HOOD is my contribution to the joint collection Isager Archives 2. In a free interpretation of the two designs by Marianne Isager (Marocco and Hjælm), I integrated zigzag patterns into a hood, with the characteristic, graphic form of the diagonal lines forming the basis for the construction. KAREN HOOD is my interpretation of a new feminine combination of a classic blast bonnet and the look of a traditional headscarf.

KAREN HOOD Uses many different knitting techniques. It is knitted from top to bottom. First, the triangular upper part is knitted. The stitches are knitted up on two sides and knitted back and forth with increases and decreases in order to obtain the shape and zigzag pattern. At the same time, the contrast strips are knitted. At shoulder height, back and front parts are separated to form slits. The hood is closed with an I-cord edge at the bottom and a double knitted button strip around the opening.

150 g Soft from Isager Yarn (50 g = 125 m) together with
50 g Silk Mohair by Isager Yarn (25 g = 212 m)
Contrast colour A:
50 g Trio 1 fra Isager Yarn (2-thread) (50 g = 350 m) together with
50 g Highland Wool by Isager Yarn (2-thread) (50 g = 275 m)
Contrast colour B:
50 g Boucle by Isager Yarn (2-thread) (50 g = 175 m)

The stated quantity of yarn applies to Karen Hood. From the leftover yarn, the gloves can be knitted Karen Mittens.

In addition, you need 2 buttons.

Gauge
16 stitches x 23 rows smooth right with 6 mm needles and 2 threads of yarn.
