Material
100 % merino wool (Mulesing-free)
Hand dyed in Ireland
100 grams of strand with about 366 meters
Nadelstärke 3,5 ca. 26 – 27 Maschen auf 10 cm.; bzw. je nach Nadelstärke kompakter oder lockerer.

Special handling of hand-dyed yarns: For hand-dyed yarns, each strand is unique. In order to avoid a sudden difference in the entanglement, it is recommended to always knit with two strands at the same time. One round of string number one, one round of string number two.

About the dyeing in Ireland:
Life in the Long Grass was born out of the joy of creating and living in rural Ireland. After restoring a dilapidated farmhouse over a hundred years old, and setting up the dyeing studio, they began their work to live their values wisely: ethically produced yarns, local employment, slow living, care and quality. LitLG carefully selects the raw materials and ensures that they come from farms with ethical practices in Uruguay, Peru, England, Argentina, France and Portugal. These farms are mulesing-free, which means fair and humane treatment of their sheep.

Their dyeing studio is open and bright and specially built to let in as much fresh air as possible to ensure a pleasant working environment for the team of dyers and packers.

They color with meticulous details and great care to ensure very good quality. All batches are produced as similarly as possible. They use a mixture of non-toxic acid dyes, low-impact fiber-reactive dyes and natural dyes – they fix with a food-grade fixative. The dyed strand is double-rinsed to ensure that no bleeding occurs. It is important to mention that the water is recycled to minimize waste.
(Packaging and labels are all made from recycled kraft paper and the paper used in the knitting instructions is also recycled.)
