The Foundation Cardigan is a simple Raglans knitting jacket that is easy to knit. A proper base cardigan, hence the name that fits most types of yarn. The cardigan is worked from top to bottom and the neckline is increased by shortened rows in the neck. The bezels and the collar are made last.

Konstruktion
The Foundation Cardigan is working from top to bottom. At the top, shortened rows are made to shape the neckline, while at the same time raglan increases are made. Once all Raglan increases are knitted, the sleeve stitches are decommissioned and the front and back are completed in rows. Afterwards, the sleeves are finished in rounds. Finally, the bezels and the collar are made on the neck cutout and the buttons are sewn on.

Größenwahl
The Foundation Cardigan is designed with a range of movement (positive ease) of about 12-20 cm. The sweater in Bouclé is depicted with a range of movement of 16 cm. The grey cardigantic jacket is depicted with a range of movement of 24 cm; in addition, it has been extended by 5 cm. This means that if your cardigan should fall looser, choose a larger size and knit it longer.
You calculate your personal breast circumference by measuring yourself around the breast (or around the widest part of your torso). Then look at the measurements in the guide (the measurements refer to the finished cardigan). The positive ease is the difference between your personal breast circumference and the breast circumference of the cardigan.
For example, if your breast circumference is 94 cm, you get at Gr. M has a range of movement of 13 cm (107 cm – 94 cm = 13 cm). For Gr. L gives you a range of movement of 20 cm (114 cm – 94 cm = 20 cm).

Circular knitting needle 5 and 5.5 mm (40 and 80 cm).
double-pointed needles 5 mm (unless knitted with the Magic Loop method).

Accessories
5 buttons. The Bouclé cardigan has Duffle buttons, 3 cm long.
The buttons of the grey cardigan jacket have Ø 23 mm.

Gauge
15 stitches x about 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm smooth right on needle 5.5 mm.
