Alpaca / Baby Alpaca
The natural habitat of the Alpacas is the South American Andes. The animals live there at altitudes of up to 5000 meters and are exposed to strong temperature fluctuations throughout the year. With their unique woolen dress, alpacas are optimally adapted to these extreme living conditions. The supple Alpaca wool is therefore characterized by excellent thermal properties, is comparatively light and yet very resistant. As Baby Alpaca, the Alpaca wool is classified with very fine fibers (about 19 to 22 micron). It is uniquely soft in its composition.

LAMANA is a young wool and fashion label and was founded in 2010 in the Leineweberstadt Bielefeld. We combine selected yarns with fashionable design.
Inspired by the love of knitting, wool and fashion, we initially specialized in exclusive Peruvian yarns. In the course of the further development of our exquisite collection, we are now also spinning in traditional Italian companies.
In yarn production, we attach the highest importance to the origin, growing conditions and the further processing and coloring of the fibres used. We ensure our standards of fair production, sustainability and consistent LAMANA quality through regular visits to the carefully selected partners on site.
We have our yarns produced exclusively by owner-managed traditional companies in Italy and Peru. We ourselves have close family ties to Peru and regularly visit our selected production partners, with whom we have long-standing friendly relations.
