The JIM Sweater is a box-cut strip sweater in the style of a classic Marinière. An all-rounder that combines well and is not only suitable for the cold days, but also fits perfectly into the summer.
The JIM Sweater is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom. First of all, the neckline collar is knitted in rounds in the 2/2 rib pattern and increases are worked for the shoulder slope. For the arm cutouts, the front and back parts are knitted separately in back and forth rows. The stitches of the front and back parts are then combined and knitted again in rounds. The sweater ends with a narrow ribbed bundle. Finally, stitches are grasped from the arm cutouts and the sleeves are knitted in the 2/2 rib pattern. Since the sweater is knitted from top to bottom, it is possible (and advisable) to try it on during knitting, so the length of the body as well as the sleeves can be individually adjusted.
Techniques used: increases with left and right inclination in right and left stitches, decreases with left and right inclination.

In order for the sweater to fall loosely, it should have a range of movement (“positive ease”) of about 15-20 cm to the body. For example, if you have a chest circumference of 92 cm, you should knit size M.

Lamana ‚Cosma‘ (60 % Baumwolle, 40 % Modal; LL 100 m/ 50 g),

Needles
Circular knitting needle 3.5 mm / 40-50 cm and 80 -100 cm (for the qualities ‘Cosma’)
Gauge
Smooth right with quality ‘Cosma’ and Nd 3.5 mm: 19 M x 28 R = 10 x 10 cm
The gauges were washed and measured lying down. Select a different needle size if necessary to adapt the gauges.
(With the quality ‘Cosma’, the gauge and, accordingly, the sweater is slightly larger, since it is a cotton quality that is less elastic). Who knits with this yarn, should knit a size smaller if necessary.
