ISAGER SOCK YARN It consists of 40% Easy Wash Alpaca, 40% Easy Wash Merino wool and 20% recycled nylon. The yarn is very durable, feels soft and is resistant to washing machines. The palette comprises 20 typical Isager colors.
Easy Wash is an environmentally friendly alternative to the commonly used chlorine process, which changes the surface of the fibers so that they do not run in easily when washing. The process consists of a treatment with environmentally friendly oxidizing agents, which are produced in Germany and certified according to the standards REACH, Oeko-Tex and ZDH (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemical). Unlike most other machine-washable yarns currently on the market, this process does not release harmful substances into the environment.
A sock yarn requires a certain amount of synthetic fibers to be durable. That’s why Isager chose 20% recycled nylon for their sock yarn.
It’s the first time Isager has used a chemically made fiber, but they simply couldn’t find a yarn that was both soft enough to wear comfortably and strong enough to be used for socks. Recycled nylon is produced from a residual product which is disposed of in normal nylon production.
