The distinctive vertical lines of the Edda Sweater are inspired by Marianne Isager’s Krydser design from the eighties. The sweater pays tribute to the original’s iconic style.
The Edda Sweater embodies classical aesthetics and is the result of a harmonious fusion of two epochs and the shared love of two designers for the graphic and timeless.
Designed for the Isager Archives 2 collection 2025

Konstruktion

The Edda Sweater is a smooth right knitted sweater, which is worked in the Jacquard pattern according to diagram. The sweater is worked from top to bottom with a European shoulder. First, the upper fit of the back part is worked back and forth. Then, stitches for shoulders and fore-ends are grasped along the shoulder lines of the back part. When the upper part of the foreheads are finished, and the neckline is formed, these parts are collected, and the work is knitted back and forth until the specified depth of the armline is reached. Now the front and back parts are collected, and from here work is done in rounds according to diagram. The body is worked until it reaches the desired length. The lower fret is knitted and the stitches are chained off in Italian. After that, stitches are grasped along the arm cutout, and the sleeves are worked from top to bottom in rounds. Finally, stitches are grasped along the neck cutout.
This guide works in such a way that a thread is the dominant thread. This achieves a beautiful, similar expression.
