The Heavenly Feeling of Kashmir

In the wool world, there is a material that has been attracting all attention for some time and has become a true favorite of knitting enthusiasts: Kashmir.

A cashmere sweater in the wardrobe is no longer just a simple piece of clothing, but a symbol of luxury and quality. Luxury, which one can treat with a good conscience, as we find.

But what makes Kashmir so special, and why is it the perfect choice for knitting projects?

We do not wish to delve too deeply into the matter so that you do not get bored to death while reading this post. Nevertheless, we want to share a bit of background knowledge about the natural fiber with you.

Kashmir is extracted from the fine lower skin of the Kashmir goat, which is native to the mountainous regions of Central Asia. This breed of goats is perfectly adapted to extreme climatic conditions, resulting in their underskin being particularly soft and warm to protect them from the freezing temperatures. It is precisely this fine underskin that is made into the luxurious material that we know and love as Kashmir.

Compared to other natural fibers such as sheep’s wool, Kashmir is much finer and tenderer. For one, Kashmir is exceptionally light yet warm, meaning knitted garments are incredibly comfortable to wear.

Knitting makes Kashmir feel gorgeous on the needles, gliding gently through the fingers, making the knitting experience a real treat – we really don’t overdo it!

Another advantage of Kashmir is its durability and durability. High-quality cashmere that is properly cared for can last for years and preserve its softness.

Kashmir with silk, in a wool that is just a touch of material – and that touch is incredibly soft and fluffy. We have never held such a fine quality in our hands before and that means something.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have the yarn in stock, as it is a bit more expensive due to its high quality. But don’t worry, we can find it for you within 2-3 days.

For those who visit our shop, we have of course prepared a sample piece so that you can experience the incomparable softness of this wool up close in advance.

For all those who simply prefer to work with materials other than Kashmir, we have of course also prepared something in this week’s article. Because there is always something for every taste.

Wir hoffen, dass der Gedanke an „sommerliche Strickkkits“ eure Herzen genauso hoch schlagen lässt wie unsere.

PetiteKnit I Cloud Top

So simple but so exciting is the “Cloud Top” from “PetiteKnit”. For us, it simply embodies a perfect basic that can be seen on any occasion.

PetiteKnit I Kumulus Tee O-Neck

The “Kumulus tea” is currently also at the top of our favorites list.We have worked with the “Jaipur Peace Silk”, but it is also possible to be more economical and use, for example, “Tynn Line”.

In addition, there is a casual summer yarn from “Lang Yarns”, which in the name “Siempre” hört. A beautiful hand-colored mix of cotton and cupro, and of course we want to show you what you can conjure up from it.

This hype was triggered by Alexandra, or just known as @sinchens_knitwear, at this year's trade fair in Cologne. The enthusiasm around it was just sore.

The special feature of this sequined yarn is that it is usually not available regularly. But Alexandra has shared the supplier with us woll-freaks. We are expected to receive the delivery at the end of June or the beginning of July, and then we can start!

We are sure that you will escalate at least as much as Sabine!

Before we come to the end of our contribution, there is another SPOILER ALERT!

A mega surprise awaits you in the next blog! We are overjoyed to add a new wool company to our collection – and that promises pure excitement!

What makes this announcement even more exciting: Many Danish designers swear by these yarns. This means that we can offer an abundance of knitting kits with original yarns inspired by the best minds in the Danish knitting world. So look forward to our contribution in two weeks.
