You’ve seen her amazing designs previously on the pages of Laine, like the Seli sweater on Laine 10, but now we have some amazing news. Aleks Byrd’s book Traditions Revisited: Modern Estonian Knits will be released on May 20th via Laine Publishing. This long-awaited publication is an introduction to Estonian knitting, a culture rich in techniques, distinguished embellishment and regional variations.

Aleks – whose roots are in Estonia, Canada and the USA – wants to make traditional Estonian techniques accessible to everyone and build a bridge between Estonian knitters and the international knitting community — work that is valuable on its own.
