The wool production also was founded in 1906 by my great-grandfather Josef Weiter. When my grandpa Matthias Weiter returned from the Russian prisoner of war in 1947, he continued the carding, which only produced fleece. In 1954, the carding was expanded by a spinning mill. Until the takeover of the company in 1976 by my dad Matthias Weiter senior, only the wool from the local farms was processed.
