Umma meant \u2018mother\u2019 in South Korean and the cape got its name for this reason, as it feels like a mother\u2019s embrace when you wear it. Umma is also the mother of the Nabi and Narea instruction, both of which are marked by the delicate cross detail on the chest. Umma is worked from top to bottom, first the neck, after which the transverse threads are picked up under the ribbed on the neck to form the iconic cross.
